Dead Force

BioChem Inc runs its own isolated research settlement where, under the supervision of Professor Winters, the Phoenix Vaccine is being developed. So named after the mythical bird which resurrected shortly after death, the vaccine was effectively an antidote to death. Developed in conjunction with the military its function was to maintain brain and muscle activity in soldiers even when they had physically passed the point of death for ordinary individuals. By maintaining cellular activity in the host despite the body enduring injuries or traumas which would kill an ordinary man, the soldier could immeasurably increase his fighting potential by continuing to survive, and would have the added benefit of a safety net against death, for a short period at least, in which time medical assistance could be rendered.

It was this short time frame which was most problematic, the vaccine disappearing along with its benefits after a few days. In attempts to solve the problem the vaccine’s DNA was fundamentally altered in various sequences. One of these experiments resulted in seemingly dead tissue being revived instead of living tissue being merely sustained. The potential was there to raise the dead, but who would be mindless cadavers functioning only on the most basic of instincts. Aware of the ramifications if the reengineered virus escaped into an uncontained environment BioChem ordered the samples destroyed. But before this could happen several lab raiders unwittingly released the vaccine turned virus into the lab building, quickly spreading to encompass the isolated research settlement.

Meanwhile Captain McCoy and his special forces team have been ordered to intercept the tech crime lord Snake as he meets a mole in the BioChem compound to exchange secret intelligence, something which the government and the company cannot allow. In an elaborate sting operation they plan to capture Snake and the mole. Unbeknown to them however the settlement has been overrun by flesh eating zombies, and what was once a simple sting operation has turned into a far deadlier game of survival…

Dead Force 2: Pheonix Rising
Just when Eddie O'Brian thought his ordeal was over, the nightmare takes a different turn...

Having been the sole survivor of the BioChem Inc zombie outbreak Eddie intends to take the virus data he acquired and expose the conspiracy to the public. However before he can do this he is kidnapped by a Spetnatz commando team and whisked away to a secret underground base in the Ural Mountians in Russia.

Tortured and interrogated Eddie is left mulling his fate in a cell, his only company the rats and a CIA agent named Chip Hendrick, captured while trying to infiltrate the base.

Meanwhile the Russians take the original virus data and produce a formula of their own, experimenting on live test animals to advance the biological weapons programme of a rouge Russian general in league with the treacherous Capt Helen Ramsay.

Inevitably things go wrong, and a new outbreak occurs. Only this time the virus does not create zombies but mutates all those infected into vicious psychopathic animal/human hybrids.

Soon Eddie and Chip are released by the mysterious Natalia and they and the remaining Spetnatz commandos must fight their way past numerous monsters and security systems in an effort to reach the safety of the surface.

Unlike the first adventure, blockading himself from the threat is not an option for Eddie. This time, with the others, he must fight every inch of the way for his survival.

And with the small matter of the self destruct device ticking down, their chances of survival just took a turn for the worst...
